Keep running!

Hi Steve

good to hear you are around.

NY Times article

Training in the heat

after the discussion the other day I thought a few of you might find this interesting.

HOT

5.5 mi
picking up speed til it's under 7s and agony

:D

Heat

All I know is everyone slows down to some degree when it's hot and humid but for other reasons some people slow down more or less than others.

Most reocrds are set when the temp. is 35-50 degrees, so lets hope for that.

6 miles

legs are VERY tired today. Didn't quite get in the mileage planned, but I'll run easy with Bozo tomorrow to make up for it, and it will feel much better. Thanks Julie, for putting up with my slowness:)

Nice and easy with Matt, Steve, Karen and then Bob and Vanessa showed up by 6:45. Nice morning.

Brendan O'Keefe...heat 1, tonight 11:25 P.M.

And

Brendan looks like he got lucky in the heat placement. The three guys who will probably go to the Olympics are in the other heats, so Brendan should advance. Good luck.

Where can we watch it?

Can we get it on-line?

who knows

I haven't watched any of the trials so far. NBC coverage sucks. Well past my bedtime.

It should be online, but NBC owns the rights and won't allow it. Don't get me started.

4.35 miles at EL with DeLaney

The extra .35 was due to backtracking. It seems my little training partner secretly took off and deposited her pink shoe along our path. lol The run was followed by a yummy breakfast at Jordans.

I got to chat with Marion and Holly, and their very well behaved pups. I saw Ginger and Julie running, and wanted to stop and visit, but since I wasn't sure if they were out for an easy jaunt or not I kept going. :(

Tri-Lakes Loop with Amy N.

I really can't remember the last time I did this loop. I think I did it once or twice last year, but it has been some time. I don't think I have run 10 miles since March. Not sure what I have been doing with my time, but it felt good to be out there today. Sorry I refused to run with you, Julie. I hope you consider it a compliment, but I really could/should have been nicer in my refusal.

6 @ 7

Beautiful morning. Great to see Steve again. Sorry I missed the 6 a.m. crew. It was fun seeing Holly, Marian, and pups along with Bob & Becky. Even got to see Craig & Joann along EL. Life is good in the woods.

11-1

trials are on from 11pm to 1am on USA tonight. The 400, womens 3-k steeple and first round of the 1500's is on.

XT, easy

Just took it easy. 30 min on the bike trainer and a little strength and core.
