quick spin on the road bike!

6 miles @.....

Eagle lake with Steve. Nice big group this morning! Good to see Craig and Joanne again.

2 hour run (workout)

Boy, did I struggle today! Thank goodness I did have the good sense to get out of bed before DeLaney woke up for an early start. Doing this at 10am like I normally do would have been even worse in the heat.

75 minute regular running, then:
5 X 5min/30 sec/45 sec
(5 min piece at 10k pace, 30 sec easy, 45 seconds faster than 10k pace and faster every 15 sec)
2 min easy in between each set.

I felt like I struggled to get my paces where I wanted them. A few of the sets were fine, a few weren't pretty at all. I do remember that Judson got a bad cramp during a workout a few months back, and he wrote he wasn't going to quit just because it was hard. Having that thought in my head kept me going. It was hard today, but I finished.

125 min. of agility drills

Mostly on the trails. Park Loop, Bear Brook, Beachcroft, Tarn, The Gorge, Dorr South and North Ridges, Hemlock, Gorge, Great Meadow.

I'm no mountain goat, so I had to walk a bit of this. Made me appreciate some of Pete Palmer's and Judson's day-long trail running feats.

Fun

That sounds like fun. Great way to get in shape, shock the system and have fun.

It was, actually...

...fun, although when I started up Champlain my calves and PF were protesting being up so much on my toes. The downhill section of Huguenot Head knocked that right back and I was good most of the rest of the way. Bonus was I was out of the sun most of the time except going up the last half of Dorr.

Felt like a little kid going down at the end with my arms flapping all over the place. Man, you could hurt yourself though, if you really let go.

11m & 8m

Beautiful Tri-lake trot with Bob C, Frank, Kev, & Shannon. We lost Kev & Shannon at the Jordan Pond water stop when they were pushing to catch us and we were waiting for them at #15 - I hate it when that happens. Thanks for toting those water bottles Frank. Good group out this a.m. Vanessa did her longest run of the year with the 8 bridges loop. Life is good in the woods.

16 miles

of the flat variety. Focused on holding my min/mile pace steady, and managed to keep it within +/- 3 sec the whole way, except for a brief stop to say hello to a turtle.

Hail, Vanessa, Queen of the Bridges!

4-miles

very easy although in the heat of the day I think I sweated more than I have all year.

11.4 miles

since Wed.s track workout all my runs feel blah. I hate it when I have to stop and walk, I'm still trying to adjust to the warmer temp.s I guess.

Good crew at Eagle Lake this morning..

About 16 people by my quick count.

A nice three lake loop ride with Kevin, Bob B., Bob C. and Shannon. Followed up later with a row and scramble up Beech.

8mi

61:14, in Saco this morning. Very humid, but otherwise a beautiful day. The body is a bit worn out from the four hours of dancing at a Portland club last night. Yeah, you're reading that right - Spotter went clubbing!

Go Spotter!

Also...

belated CONGRATS to Alyie!

Awesome running, Vanessa! Go girl!
