Hey, Eden
because that thing starts to look like fun when you're injured.
Abs and other gym bunny things, too. My family's headed to a big summer party this afternoon and I am excited for volleyball, waterskiing, and maybe open water BUTTERFLY
after the second fall from slalom skiing I let them take the skiis and lifejacket in the boat and swam my way back :D fly back breast free, I feel soooo weak in the water right now but it'll come back.
with Vanessa, Dick, & Donna. Got to see Marian, Holly, Becky, Bob C, & Julie along the way. Life is good in the woods.
Good group running/biking from Eagle Lake this morning - Bob, Becky, Karen, Eleanor, Craig, Joanne, Julie, and Abby. Abby is from the Portland area (and Maine Track Club member) and now runs for Clemson. She said she may join us tonight for a track event or two.. Thanks to the Eden crew who showed up this morning to serve as guides.
No paddlers..but perhaps they are resting up for a lap around Sutton's tomorrow
See you all at the track later today. If you happen to have a spare clipboard please bring it along. Thanks.
Fort Fairfield Potato Blossom 5-miler is just finishing. Judson won, taking 15 seconds off his own course record from last year. Evan was a bit off his time from last year, but solid second. Jeff Ashby and Al Hanscom duked it out for third, traded places a few times during the race, with Jeff edging Al at the end. Last night's rain packed the surface down well for the section of the course that runs up and down the hill through the potato fields.
Lid's off to prepare for her time trial in Presque Isle at 1:00.
That's Aunt Betty and Eagle with the pleasure of Abby's company averaging a quick for me under 8mpm pace. I hope Abby does show up at the track, based on some google research we may see some real speed.
Abby's Clemson Bio = Earned state championship in cross country in 2005 and set course record...holds the indoor mile record for the state of Maine...earned four varsity letters in cross country, indoor and outdoor track.
...am I glad I didn't run with you two this morning!
Fun, easy 6 with Becky & Bob C. Nice to see everyone out there this morning!
Warmup, then 5 X 3:00 uphill at 5k pace, cooldown. For a short workout, it was humbling to do it in the heat of the day. But we took DeLaney to the Flamingo Parade, and since I'm working today this was the only time I could carve out.
My best 5k pace was 7:13s at Unity, so I was happy that my uphills were in the 7:10-7:16 range. Not bad for a hot day.
Good luck, Lid!
Congrats Judson and the other racers, and good luck to all at the Track Festival tonight. Wish I didn't have to miss it.
Nice seeing everybody today at EL--we had a great run and walk--hopefully back to full strength soon!!
Lid won -- her first time as overall winner.
Lid!!!!!
You are an animal!!
I'm wicked impressed.
Keep running!
Congrats on the win :D that's awesome!!!
Awesome!
Golden Chain Award ready for Lid. I've got the gold spray paint, but I haven't found a bike chain yet. Might have to use the one off my old Husqvarna.
Spotter ran his first sub 20 5K! He finished 5th (19:52). I watched 'em from 6th place. 20:15. Scotty Dority won for the Spuds - he finished around 17:13.
I'm headed to Lincoln on Sunday to time the 5K up there.
r./
Sam Wilbur while you're up in Lincoln.
and 1 M swim and stretches. Needed to practice for tomorrow's Yogurt. Diane & I drove up (too hot in Boston) and I'll be there for the run tomorrow, too.
Team Eden doing well all around. Enjoyed seeing all the good running at the track festival tonight. Frank coordinates a good meet with a very good team. There is now a link on Friday's Daily Log for the pictures from the social run and bike.
The Potato Blossom Festival is just so fun. Probably had a little too much fun the night before, but I still got the course record and I promised I'd at least do that on a bad day.
Not really the time I wanted, but it was humid and it was hard to push myself in those conditions, so I was happy. Splits of 5:00, 5:20, 5:21, 4:55, 4:58 for 25:34. I'll go through 5-miles a minute faster at B2B in 2 weeks, easy.
Liddy is for real, she's going to be winning more and more races as the season goes on.
At the track festival. What Fun! Nice small friendly and kid friendly meet. 1 mile race (actually used it as a warm up). 2 mile race. 1 mile cool down. Plus some support running with the kids.
The meet went well. Many thanks to all our volunteers and our sponsors.
Hope to see some of you all at our events this morning and at the potluck picnic at Seal Harbor Beach at noon. Tide will be coming in... Glad to hear Steve C. wil be joining us. The Jordan Pond House running group should keep an eye out for Jesse D. from the Fox Cities (Wisconsin) Marathon.
Nice work yesterday Judson and Lid!
Congratulations to both...it's such fun to have you and all Edenistas to cheer on in our efforts...
on the treadmill, and a couple more on the track with my nonogenarian friend, Harold.
I think I can... from The Little Engine That Could... and me, when I'm standing at the bottom of our stairs and wanting to go up.
P.S. I've been wondering where Washington County's trains were sent when they started ripping up the rails last month!
you're not that old!!!
Thanks for the picture Sweetheart!
