Good morning, Eden!

with Brian. A new record around the lake for me if you don't count pacing some people. 44:05

That's what I'm there for...

As recently as a few weeks ago, Judson wouldn't have dreamed that that pace was within his reach. But I gave him a few visualization exercises and he's proved to be an adept student.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that, with work and dedication, a 45 minute circuit is still well within his range.

I'm so confused

Judson, 44 min around the lake? Did you mean THIRTY four minutes?

Ah

Yup, that's 44 minutes 5 seconds. Slowest I've run around the lake all summer, a record. Just taking my easy day easy. Brian actually had a few steps on me.

I've run around the lake in 30:17 when I've tried to go fast. That was a few years ago and I'd say sub 30 would probably be pretty easy if I tried right now. But no need for time trials with all these fine races coming up and course records to break.

Aha!

congratulations on your new record :D

6 miles in Manset/Seawall...

...with my mini training partner. On Kings Lane we saw John S., his cute puppydog AND a deer that let DeLaney and I get very close.

Congrats on that new record, Judson. It's amazing what visualization can do. hehe! :)

Cute,

Yes. Friendly, yes. Well behaved, not so much. I did see the deer wandering off into the woods but fortunately the dog's attention was elsewhere. She absolutely freaks out when we see a deer. "Must Chase Deer" seems to be programmed into her genetics. She's part border collie:)

With some awesome company, Shannon, Adria, Zoe, Becky & Bob C. We had the bonus of getting to also see Vanessa, Amy N & Sara. Life is good in the woods.

Thomas took 9 seconds off his pr for 5-k running 13:27 and Louis Luchini ran 13:29 just a handful of seconds off his alltime pr.

4.5 miles + 15 bike

An easy 4.5 on seawall with a Suzanne and DeLaney sighting. Followed up with a quick 15 on the bike.

And when I got home my new fork was waiting for me on the porch:) Next stop, bicycle Bob in SWH for the installation and I'm ready to race.

presents!

How fun. I am sure your bike will be thrilled!

Does your bike have a name? My bike's name is Chatter. She's my alter ego... doesn't like to get up early, would rather spend lunch eating cheeseburgers than training, etc. And she doesn't like it when I start taping gels to the top tube, apparently that tickles.

Chatter

That's funny and would actually be a good name for my bike. The disk brakes "chatter" when I reach a certain speed, some weird resonance with the wind in the rotors around calipers.

I have not named the bike, just lovingly refer to her as "my bike". A mid range TREK hardtail mountain bike that I absolutely love to ride. She climbs like a dream on the trails! I blew out the seals in the original fork last fall and have been riding it as a rigid with the fork locked out this year. Now we will get to ride with a plush front end for those times you need a little plushness in your ride:)

9 miles

4 of those at a pace that felt much faster than it was. Welcome to the mortal world, Judson!

4 miles walking

Craig and I walked 4 miles along Eagle Lake (and 3 yesterday that we didn't post about). Saw Frank both mornings and finished the walks with him. Lots of great conversation.

A buddy of mine

tried to break the Eagle Lake record this afternoon. He wanted to go sub 30:00 but stalled out on the final hill. Said he's trading in his Honda for a Harley first thing tomorrow morning.

I beat a bike up the hill at EL

and she said "boy do you run fast" as I went by, but I still didn't run faster than Judson's all-time slow jog. I was content with my 44:40 for 6 miles though (EL plus a bit), especially since I started at what is usually my dinnertime, a little before 7:00.

A few miles

in the morning at EL and a nice walk for a bit with Craig and Joanne as they were coming back in.

the afternoon version, walking* from Eagle Lake and out past Bubble. I saw Kate Goupee out running with a group of high schoolers, I think CeCelia was one of them?

Yup

That was her! :)
