80 min on the road bike
...all around SWH, with 9 surges in the last miles. Nice run, easy pace, perfect weather.
It was really nice to get a chance to chat with Judson yesterday at the high school. :)
August stats: 127.06- miles run 94- miles rode in my living room on the bike 1550- pushups 3100- abs/crunches
swim - 19.5k bike - 4 hrs run - 143.8 mi
miscellaneous, 22.5k row, 60 min ellipse.
Need to think about Sept. goals but the biggest one is "get healthy and stay that way." I'll meet with my favorite swim coach next week to have him look at my stroke and see if there are any technical issues that are resulting in the shoulder impingement, hopefully I can get back to swimming lots. I set my schedule up with lots of pool time so I can swim... and or water run (maybe I can channel some obsessive compulsiveness into THAT, though it seems not to be my cardiovascular system that needs the help but the bones and ligaments and tendons that need to adapt ;-)
23 miles!!!!!!!! Way to go!!!
Suzanne & Chris ~ for some reason this was a hard one for us! A couple of weeks ago we clocked 21 at a faster pace and felt like it was easy...not so much today! The pace was slower and we seemed to struggle from the beginning ~ not being able to find a stride. BUT it's in the bank! Today's workout will get us through any marathon ~ we really had to keep our minds in the moment to finish!
Great job Karen!!!
Ginger ~ thanks for joining us for 6! Sue ~ thanks for joining us for 12!
OK...time to find something to eat!
I'm almost certain that starting too fast was the reason I died during the final loop of Eagle. That's a lesson learned that I won't soon forget! BTW, Julie FLEW on her final loop of the lake. Great finish Julie!
Julie, Sue, and Ginger, thanks for the great company, and for continuing to talk to me even when I stopped responding :)
Like a bird with a broken wing! Pain is quite a motivator...I just wanted to get back to the barn and shed my shoes as soon as possible!
6-miles with Evan and PJ. Big group starting off at 6:30 from Eagle lake, Brian, Rene, Julie, Karen and the group I ran with. First time PJ had been up seven bridges.
which, while it felt much better than yesterday's 12, pales in comparison to Karen and Julie's 23. Nice going!
Enjoyed WH/PH with Doug & Kev, then had a good solo loop of EL. Got to see Matt F on my EL loop and Sue K while walking with Vanessa. Sue looked strong with more than 2 laps of EL under her belt. Vanessa logged 8 this a.m. Good to see Karen & Julie after their 23. Congratulations to both!
Life is good in the woods.

Nice long runs you all...we must be approaching fall marathon season..
Welcome to all the First Strides class members. We hope you'll use the club as a resource.
early this morning.
365 days since my first road race.
Bring it on.
very cool to read! Thanks for posting it, Brian.
Would have had the chance to chat with you and the family late this afternoon, if only DeLaney and I had stayed at the playground for a few extra minutes.....
From Hog Bay I hiked to the base of Schoodic Mtn for about 2 M. Up Schoodic in 20 min. and down in about the same. Then ran back to Hog Bay.
Keep running!
