What's your run?

58 min

3.5 w/u
4 desc - 7:55, 7:17, 7:01, 6:37
0.2 c/d

I did walk a bit more for a cooldown - soleus (I think it's that and not my achilles) tweaked on the last mile.

I *heart* FAST running

5.5M

Took a few days off from running to get the knees to mend a bit. The run today felt great today along the riva' with four pick-ups thrown in to make life interesting and get the metabolism jump started. A quick stretch, too.

Keep running!

almost 6

with a nice big crew this morning. Speedy 1 and Speedy 2 took us out kinda fast, so I chilled the last few miles. Need to rest up for tomorrow's 20 miler!

Spoiled at EL

I was spoiled because Shannon brought the double, and we popped DeLaney in next to Zoe and I didn't push for a single step. :)

Had a great run with Shannon, Bob, and the little ones....nice to visit with Vanessa who taught DeLaney about butterfly kisses, and see a large Eden crew who were finshed as we were starting.

Had a John S sighting, too! :)

Return of the moms

Great to see that the moms have migrated back to Eagle Lake this fall. Around the lake, yesterday and today, with lively company.

quick swim

under watchful eyes.

There are a lot of issues with my stroke.
First of all, I didn't swim all summer ('cuz my shoulder hurt when I did) and thus lost a bunch of my shoulder muscle. I am, apparently, "skinny." This was not a compliment.
Couple technical issues that would take more trouble than it's worth to describe, and may or may not be contributing.
To try: physical therapy, other strokes, lots of drills trying to figure out how to swim again.

Bit of a catch 22 as far as needing to swim to get the muscle back, needing the muscle to swim like I used to.

6 @ 10

around EL. Beautiful run with great company, as Suzanne shared. Good to see so many at the launch point (welcome back Megan & Zoe). Life is good in the woods.

Bike

16.5 miles on the carriage roads including up and down Day Mt. Felt great! Cruised by some of the morning eden crew. Sorry for being anti-social and not stopping to chat, but I was running late (again)and I have a bunch of stuff to do today and I really needed to spin my legs and a bunch of lame excuses like that... :)

7.5M

around town nice and slow.

7 miles.....

pigfarm-bass harbor loop.

Double today and Labor Day comparison photo

7.5 in the day, 5 in the evening. Took both at just under 8.

Here's a side-by-side comparison of finish line photos for me between Labor Day '07 and '08:

that's outrageous

a picture is worth a thousand words.Keep it up Spotter!

Good work

life's a grand adventure - ain't it. Thanks for sharing the two pictures... incredible.

Wow!

You are totally inspiring. I started the couch to 5k running program in April, and am still running (now with First Strides). I hope my next year comparison photos are as good as yours :)

Running is good for you!

That side by side is amazing, inspiring, and cool. Rock on, or should I say Run On!

awesome

Thanks for sharing your inspiration and pictures. what a difference.

Spotter, I hope you don't mind

I showed your photos to a couple of friends at work today. They are new to running, and as the Eden ambassador to the Midwest, I am doing my best to support and encourage their efforts. Anyway, they were truly amazed and inspired, as we all are. Not that you are the only one among us who has undergone such a huge transformation (Steve and Suzanne!), but the side-by-side comparison provides such an incredible example of what hard work and determination can do. Congratulations to you all!

I wonder

how much the three of us have lost combined? I'm 75 pounds lighter...:)

Wow!

That's awesome Spotter!

7 miles

with Matt F. near Little Long pond.

Nice work Spotter.

That is tremendous Spotter!

Quite an accomplishment.

Wow Wow Wow Spotter!!!

Isn't running a wonderful sport?

6 miles

Wow, what a difference a year makes Spotter. Fantastic.

I had a stress driven run this evening--out to WHP, then 5k hard(20:23 per Garmin) around most of the loop, then back to EL. I didn't feel all that great, but I enjoyed seeing the First Striders (great crowd!) and visiting with Frank, Sara, Matt, Shannon, Julie, Bob, Vanessa, Don and Jean so much that I was in a good mood by the time I finally got home.

Mark

Were your ears buzzing today? I was saying nice things about you on our run! :)

Spotter

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ROCK!

DIDDO!

Wow, Athlete of the Year for sure!!!!

2m with First Strides

The First Strides group is growing. I got to run with Peter & Linda, who did very well, and enjoyed the post-run birthday celebrating for Kasch (Mr. 2) along with some bodacious muffins ala Julie & Shannon. You have to love it when you get not only a good nutrition presentation from Shannon, but delicious samples too.

Spotter - Very inspiring indeed and "Congratulations" on great work.
