hit the easy button this morning after 3 fast days - 8.5 mi in 68 min, and a 70 min yoga class.
Eagle Lake with Judson in 41:38, then four more in an out and back down Breakneck Stream, nice and easy.
I'm headed to Parkman Mtn to go for a little run or a hike, I haven't figured out which yet. I should be there by 9ish if anyone wants to jump on board.
And I've been missing out on a lot of great stuff on the board here. Great runs, big distances, and holy cow Spotter. You all are something else to watch in action.
It is 1:00 and I just saw this post. I hope you had fun. We will have to connect next week. Posting is the way to go right now. We have canceled our land line and I lost my cell phone, so I am a bit hard to reach right now. Speaking of, what time are people running tomorrow?
Julie, Sue K. and I are leaving from Eagle Lake at 7:00 on Saturday. The plan is to run 13-15 miles at around 8:45-9:00 min. pace. Not sure if I'll be able to maintain the pace, but we'll see how it goes. Join us!
...I haven't found anyone to take Kasch, so I'm the one who won't be able to keep up the pace! Bob, wanna push???? :)
OK...WARNING...now I'm going to whine ~ PLUS I have a bad cold and my last adjustment seems to have hurt more than it helped SO there are all my excuses!!! I know...I'm a slacker!
that would be too fast for me these days. Good luck, guys!
I promise to give a bigger heads up next time; I got sidetracked last night and didn't think to post. And actually, I got lost out there and Zoe took a nap, so I had the best accidental long run I've had in quite a while. So I had a decent run (and mini hike) despite not getting a chance to connect with you. Maybe next Friday?
Completed the unfinished run from the start afterwork last night for at least 14.5M total for the day. Mamamia!
Manset/Seawall out and back. The clouds lifted and it turned out to be a very nice kinda breezy morning for a run.
with Amy and Dilly. My legs feel good. Got to see Bob and Vanessa twice today! Life is good.
EL in 43:14. It was an "A" run, feeling good all the way. Great getting to walk with Vanessa & see Amy, Ginger, & Dilly too. Life is good in the woods.
how come in my photo from the mile i look like Spotter's before photo and my pics. from the 80/90's look like his this year photo I will post a side by side sometime so everyone else can see what i mean !!!
can look as good as Spotter's this year photo. That boy is tough!
We all love you Tom, and think you look great any year. : )
some of those pictures Tom, they were only, ahem, about 30 years ago. I don't know anyone else your age-ish who can be injured, run about 10 miles a week, and then pull out a 6+/- minute mile. But now that you mention it, I know you still have some of the running clothes (and shoes!) from the 1970's and 80's - please, don't start wearing them!
tomorrow in the Minnesota Mile
around Bangor this evening. Warm, but still comfortable enough in sub-8's.
Not everyone can look like a Spotter. ;) Thanks for the continued praise guys, I'm really humbled by the positive comments.
during the heat of the day on trails in Willowdale many the same as Stone Cat.
Keep running!
I wanted to at least bike today, but between work in the morning and then the XC dinner...no time. I do have the option of resting 3X per week right now, but I really prefer only two. Oh well....one more crazy week and then my schedule should settle down. I can't wait.
a little humid but otherwise can't go wrong low-70's no wind at 6:42pm start. After the run stopped at 7-Eleven on Congress St for gas.Always a good place to go for a slice of life on a Fri night and I was not disappointed.A young kid around 19 wearing full on biker gang colors missing his front teeth left hand wrapped in gauze. He looked like Sid Vicious the doomed bass player for the Sex Pistols back in the 70's.The clerk asked him what happened. He smiled and replied I was playing with fire, when you play with fire you get burned.A shiver went down my spine looking at a guy who unless he changes his life could be dead within a year or two.It reminded me of myself back in my band days in New Haven in the early 90's.I was out of my tree but I never got quite that far away from the branches.I said a little prayer for the kid.
