Run if you want to.

6

Easy 6 miles with Brian. No Matt H. to play with so we just ran the lake.

Goodluck to anyone doing the tri tomorrow.

"Easy..."

...means easy for some, as this ended up being my second fastest time around the Lake this year. But Judson's correct in that it didn't feel that hard and that our time to the top of the hill was moderately casual.

Some days are just like that. Love this time of year.

"Run if you want to"

I DO want to, but then realize I'm tapering and battling a cold. Another rest day here, but I plan to run tomorrow.

Taper workout

I rode my bike on the trainer for 30 minutes then lifted some weights and did some core exercises. No running today.

Short run tomorrow. Plan on running 7B Sunday morning hopefully early enough to meet the Eden crew.

Good luck and have fun to those of you doing the Acadia Tri and anyone else racing this weekend. I would like to have done either the run or bike (or actually the whole thing solo) but as things go my son has a soccer game at 9:00 and that's a great excuse not to over-do it in a race one week before a marathon:)

6.4 on a gorgeous morning

Bob C & I had to run fast to catch Amy & Julie on Paradise Hill, and then got to run with them the rest of the run. It was also great to see Karen & Ginger back running. We even got to see Vanessa, Becky C, & Rebecca as we finished the run. Good to have our marathoners back running again. Also good to have Bob & Becky C back with us. Can't help but feel so very lucky to get to run on these beautiful days. I'm not sure you get to count a leaf catch when you are standing there and one hits you in the hand. Life is good in the woods.

Early run

It's not often I feel zippy at 6:15 in the morning, but it happened today. Ran downtown, Lab, Kebo route at an ever-increasing speed, starting with 7:47 and finishing at 7:08 pace for 5.5 total miles. This has been the best week of running weather ever--wish I could have done more with it.

12+

I actually saw Mark this morning as I was headed down Park Street to pick up Brian on the corner of Ledgelawn and Park St. He was moving along well and for a second thought about picking him up as well and bringing him to the run at eagle lake.

Tonight I started from Duck Brook bridge with Brian on the bike and went out to then around eagle lake and back and then a mile out and back at the end.
From 4-10 miles I ran a progressive run and went 5:52, 5:38, 5:29, 5:23, 5:23, 5:11. First mile was down the hill going around eagle lake so I did a nice job staying in control and then picking things up as the run went. Just another early season workout, a workout I might add I really hate doing but one that is needed to be able to do greater things in the weeks to come. Soon I'll get to do some fun workouts.

I love

your splits. I try so hard to gradually drop when I am doing a progressive piece, and I always fail miserably. Practice, practice, practice, I guess! Glad you are feeling good and over that stomach bug. Yuck.

When you told me

there were some workouts you hated, I wondered what those might be. Now I know one of them. I, by the way, LOVE progressive runs.

I can think of some swim workouts that I love to hate. 8 x 300 on 4:15 desc 1-4 is one of them, it's pure pain while you're doing it but it's like purrrrrr.

7.56mi

at a hair under 8, with RK in Bangor. Good to have the legs under me again.

Also my last day of work at MPBN. Moving on to Burgess, Inc., an IT consulting company in Bath. I'll be moving down there in a week.

Spot

Good luck in your new endeavor. Hope we will still get to see you around sometimes!
