...And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

Just ducky.

6 at 6 with Judson in 40:50, at an effort that should have produced a time at least 30 sec. quicker. Rest day tomorrow.

off-topic help needed

My car has a flat and the lug nuts are too tight for me to loosen. I think they were put on with a 'gun' at an auto body shop the last time that tire flatted.

Can anyone tell me where I could take the car and get the tire changed? Preference would be in the Seal Harbor area.

Right now I'm traveling with an air compressor. Is working OK.

WD-40

As a woman and although not necessarily recommended, I would spray the nut with WD-40, wipe out any excess and then wait a bit. Then I would try to loosen the nut. If that did not work, I would ask a muscle guy to try it for me. Only after this would I go to the garage. From my experience, having a flat tire is often an indication that you need new tires.

WD-40

sounds cheaper than the car shop, but as it's the threads (or something) that need to be loosened, I think putting it on the outside of the nut would just make it slip around?

I'll put Ian to work on this when he gets home and if he can't get it, to Haynes I go. Judy, thanks for the recommendation. I went this evening but they were closing. On the upside of things, I got a homemade cinnamon roll at a bakery in NE to leave for Ian as a breakfast surprise tomorrow. They're his favorite.

Get the tire fixed

you'll at least need it for a spare. I would check if the valve stem is loose. you can buy the tool at any auto parts store. It's pretty cheap. Check for nails in the tire also. Fix a flat works pretty good, but is only temp fix. If there is a nail in the tire, Haynes garage or any garage can fix that for you cheaply. Good luck!

Haynes in NEH

They're good and will help you keep the car going until they tell you something must be done for safety. Haynes Garage, Pine St., NEH...they're in the book, local family operation, have been there forever. They kept my Nova going a long long time.

Leverage

Leverage is your friend. Get a long piece of pipe and you'll feel like Super Woman.

As Archimedes observed...

...if you have a long enough lever, you can turn a left-handed thread into a right-handed one.

Archimedes

who who what what

I love that owl.

You helped me fix a flat the first summer I was here - at Beech Cliff; you and Liddy and Nora had come over to go sailing!

3 miles TM/ 6 miles bike

All inside. No gumption to push DeLaney or have her in the seat behind me....we will be doing both of those things tomorrow. :)

90 min on the trainer

for me the indoors is stability, in a way nothing else is, set the displacement equal to zero and it's easier for me to come out of my head and into my body

and after all day running around outside, being in one place feels so good.

riding anyone?

Anyone interested in biking on the island after work if it stays relatively dry, of course. Liddy I do not see a post yet, I am hopeful. Shannon? I hear you have a new/used bike! Anyone?

yo Michele

bring it on.
Looks like it's drying out. A quelle heure?

Well

Between 5:30 to 5:45. Hope it is not too late?

That will work

The cruise ship people should be gone by then.
Shannon too?

goody

I will meet you at your house

2 hours

in the park with Michele. We saw lots of deer including a fawn, we didn't get rained on and the traffic was light. Perfect!

Traffic

Those Tour buses should be banned from the loop road. Things are dangerous and when I hit one which I know I will someday I'm going to get up off the ground and start clawing at the bus. Don't get me started!!! Sorry, I'm tapering.

pm that is:) with a couple Hadley point visits just to make sure I was beathing hard enough.

5.0

In 37:10. Fireflies in the mist. Easier not to swallow airborne arthropods when they glow. Felt like myself again. Two good ones (sans pain) in a row. Maybe maybe I'll be running with Eden again soon.

Anna

Great news!!!

Yes

I'm psyched for her too. You'd think we could coordinate this better; the rule seems to be that we run while the other is sleeping. But if Anna showed up at six at six, I bet she could stay with Brian, Judson, and Matt the entire way around the lake.

Track- 5.5ish

1 mile w/u then 5x 1200 with 200 meter rest. Almost 1m c/d. Went very well and it was great to have Tuesdi's company! Nice big crew tonight- Bobx2, Vanessa, Becky, Jean, Lou, Matt, Shannon, Zoe, Adria, Mark, and Tuesdi. I hope I didn't forget anyone!
