Harvey Barlow Wins Road Race

The 2nd Annual Islesford Road Race saw 44 runners cover the 4 mile course on Sunday with Harvey Barlow being the first to finish the distance. Despite the not so cooperative weather, the runners sloshed up to Alice's store for the start and were cheered by friends, relatives, kids and dogs at every turn.
Nineteen minutes and 31 seconds later, Harvey Barlow, crossed the finish line, and others came in steadily after. The race results are as follows:

Overall Winner: Harvey Barlow 19:31
Male 13-40: Mike Westphal 20:27
Male over 40: Tony Higgins 24:21

Top Female: Kay Rutherford 26:21
Female under 12: Susie Chaplin 28:05
Female over 40: Mary Doughty 30:07

The winners received various gift certificates supplied by local stores. Eric lake, organizer of the race, thanked all the brave souls that turned out and he promises better weather for the 3rd Annual Islesford Road Race!!
