An expanded field participated in this year's Cadillac Mountain 10K Run. On a picture perfect Sunday morning, 17 runners enjoyed spectacular views all along the 6.2 mile uphill course. Despite a stiff cool breeze, last year's winner, Tommy McWalters, 25 of Thorndike, ME turned in a repeat performance and a new record of 43:18.

The Cadillac Mountain 10K run began in the early 1990's as a contest between MDI firefighters, police officers and later, park rangers. Both of the event's founders, Ron Bilancia and Sean Hall, participated this year. Ron and Sean began the tradition of supporting local charities with voluntary donations. This year, $215 was raised for the Southwest Harbor animal shelter.
