Sunday Long RunBy Shannon on 27 April, 2008 - 09:49 | Sunday Long Run
Time for Sunday group runs on the carriage roads! Let's start out with the old standby of Eagle Lake at 8 am for May 4th. That seems to have been a convenient default time and location. The 11th, 18th and 25th can all be at EL as well, or we can mix it up. I'd like to start a run at Hulls Cove sometime, since there are some in the group who have never had the pleasure of climbing that little single track hill to start their run. I'm new to this forum/group and am wondering what speed ya'll run your training runs at? I'd like to join in, but I don't want to be holding anyone back! Also, when do you meet? I see that there's a group meeting at JPH tomorrow morning (7/15/07), but I'd also be interested in the rest of the week...Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks! ~ julie By mbonsey on 30 June, 2007 - 10:41 | Sunday Long Run
Mark W. and I are meeting tomorrow (7/1) at 7:00 A.M. at the Eagle Lake parking lot for a 10-ish mile run. Mark promises a nice, slow pace so please join us. My schedule doesn't permit the usual Sunday morning runners' 8:00 A.M. launch time, so we are leaving a little earlier. By Chris G. on 20 June, 2007 - 06:39 | Sunday Long Run

The annual 10k Cadillac Mountain Run will be held on Sunday, May 7th at 8 am in front of the Bar Harbor fire station. We finish at the Cadillac summit. Extra clothing and snacks will be waiting. And limited transportation back to town will be available. Please write it on your calendar. Last year, 14 runners participated. The weather was perfect and spirits were high (about 1500 feet high). With a suggested voluntary entry donation of $10, we actually raised $160 for the charity of the winner's choice. Last year, that was a local organization: Alstom Syndrome International of Mt. Desert. There was a nice write up in the MDIslander. By Chris G. on 5 January, 2006 - 19:36 | Sunday Long Run

At the risk of seeming overly optimistic, here's a schedule for four more weeks of Sunday runs on the carriage roads: Dec 4 - Eagle Lake This schedule will be modified if/when the carriage roads become un-runnable and we shift our efforts to the regular roads. I think we should get creative this year, and think of ways to make these runs more enticing and interesting. By KJ on 12 November, 2005 - 19:39 | Sunday Long Run
